Reception

The Reception class focuses on developing fluent readers who are able to read expressively and with meanings, and emergent writers by breaking the flow of their thoughts to words and sentences; writing expressively while correctly spelling decodable words and phonetically correct spellings for other longer non-decodable words.

Children explore with use of numbers and other mathematical operations of addition, subtraction, sharing and repeated addition in solving real life and practical problems. They explore with measures such as time, shapes, quantity and routines.

Our practitioners support the children in becoming independent in all aspects of their learning and development.

Children admitted into this class must be four years old by September 1st of the academic session for which admission is sought.
